Ryan Wilson - Head Coach

Prior to coming to Woodford County, Coach Wilson spent 5 years as an assistant coach at Montgomery County High School where Coach Wilson previously worked along side of Coach Hundley. Coach Wilson also had 2 years coaching experience at Lloyd Memorial High School in Erlanger, Ky.

In high school, Coach Wilson selected as a 1st Team All-District performer four times, a 1st team All-Region performer three times, and an honorable mention all-state player while playing at Lloyd Memorial High School. During this time he helped lead the single A school to a district championship and 2 regional tournament appearances. Coach Wilson finished his career as the all time leading scorer and rebounder at Lloyd Memorial.

After high school, Coach Wilson earned a full scholarship to Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, Ohio. During that time he helped to lead them to their first national tournament appearance in over 15 years. Coach Wilson earned several accolades including American Mid-East Conference Freshman of the Year and a 1st Team All-Conference selection. He followed that performance with a 1st Team All-Conference selection and an Honorable Mention All-American selection his sophomore season. He then transferred to Georgetown College where he finished his career with the Tigers earning 2 conference championships and 2 NAIA National Final Four appearances.

Coach Wilson currently holds a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in Special Education/LBD. Coach Wilson teaches at Royal Spring Middle School in Scott County in the special education department. He is married to Jennifer Wilson and he has two children, Mackenzie Grace (5) and Carter Matthew (3).
